About Ant Websystems Co.,Ltd and how we work.


AntWebsystems is a company specialized in the development and support of the Apache OFBiz ERP open source system. We are one of the largest contributors/committers check statistics for 'hansbak (Hans Bakker)' and are member of the Apache OFBiz Project Management Committee (PMC) so we define together with other members the future of OFBiz. We support users all over the world and are currently servicingcustomers in Europe, North America and Asia.

Organization


AntWebsystems has European management and has extensive experience leading software development teams in several countries in Europe and in the USA. The company is aware of the cultural differences between Asia and these parts of the world. We know what customers from the US and Europe expect, and can even exceed these expectations. Currently we have a development department, a QA department and a combined accounting and Human Resource department. The development department consists out of a number of scrum teams.

Customer and Partners


Next to serving end-users directly, the AntWebsystems company is also closely co-operating with partner companies worldwide and is constantly looking for new partners to make the OFBiz open source system successful in the partner location. We will implement the technical issues, while our partner can provide the local support and training to a local customer.

How do we work?


The most important goals of a successful outsourcing project are trust and exceeding the expectations of you, the customer. Therefore we normally like to start with a number of smaller jobs which only have to be fully paid after the result is accepted the result on our demo servers. We do require however a 25-50 percent advanced payment which does have a money back guarantee when the requested support was not provided. The risk for the customer is minimal and we will have an idea how we can best serve you.

Working together with a local development team is no problem because the functionality of todays development tools allow the update of an existing project from different locations with minimal interference of the individual project members. For communication mostly chat (Skype), e-mail and our 'Scrum' support tool is used.

After the completion of the assignment we will send you an invoice. You will have a maximum of two weeks to approve the result after which the invoice becomes payable. Invoices to countries outside of Thailand will not contain VAT because it is not required. Payment can be done preferably by direct bank transfer where the costs of the transfer (about 20$/Euro) needs to be paid by the customer. Make always sure that you transfer the amount in your local currency and do not convert it to Thai currency. Paypal or MoneyBookers is also possible, we do however ask you in this case to add 15% for transfer and currency exchange fees. See the 'Contact' page for details.

Our development and implementation process is based on the Scrum methodology.


The main advantage of Scrum is the transparency i.e. all information of the development or implementation is visible to all participants by using our web based system, part of our OFBiz ERP installation. All requirements, tasks, planning- and actual hours are maintained on a daily bases and enforced by the daily Scrum meeting where the 3 questions (1. What happened since last meeting, 2. what is the planned until the next meeting and 3. are there any problems) are answered by all members of the scrum team and entered in the system too so everybody is informed what is what is going on. Because of the product backlog which contains all requirements in priority order, a Scrum team will deliver the highest business value features first and will avoid building features that will never be used by the customer. Since industry data shows that about half of the software features developed are never used, development can be completed in half the time by avoiding waste, or unnecessary work. Because of the short (15 minutes) daily meetings implementation problems are quickly identified and fixed and will not slow down the development process.

Scrum removes management pressure from teams. Teams are allowed to select their own work within the project phase objective and timeframe (sprint), and then self-organize through close communication and mutual agreement within the team on how best to accomplish the work. In a successful Scrum team, this autonomy can significantly improve the quality of life for developers and enhance employee retention for managers.
